To celebrate our 45th anniversary, we're taking a look back at 1981, when it all began, as captured in the photograph above. Our Managing Director, Ossi Näkki, reflects on his journey with Ruskovilla and shares a personal message with everyone who has been part of our story.
Dear Customer,
My journey with Ruskovilla began in the early 1990s, when I joined the company to help out on what was only meant to be a temporary basis. Little did I know that it would become my life's work.
Over the years, I've had the privilege of being part of Ruskovilla's many chapters – through challenges, new developments and growth. My wife has also spent almost as many years working in our family business, so we've experienced much of its journey together. It's been a rewarding adventure, and one that continues with teamwork, humour and determination.
Looking back on Ruskovilla's 45-year history, what I feel most of all is gratitude. Gratitude to our customers, who have valued natural materials, quality and durability for decades. Gratitude to our partners, with whom we've worked to preserve Finnish textile expertise. And, above all, gratitude to our people, whose skills, dedication and care are at the heart of everything we do.
Staying true to our values has always been central to who we are. We believe that the best products are made from genuine natural materials by people who take pride in their work and craftsmanship. That's why we remain firmly committed to manufacturing in Finland. By keeping production close to home, we can ensure the quality of our products and take responsibility for how they are made. Years of experience, attention to detail and care can be seen in every seam and finishing touch.
Over the years, Ruskovilla products have become part of our customers' everyday lives and treasured memories. During our anniversary year, we want to celebrate our much-loved classics while introducing something new alongside them – guided by the same principles as always: thoughtful design, skilled craftsmanship and lasting quality.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey over these 45 years. It's a pleasure to continue this story together.
